Americans see global warming as serious problem
This article addresses Americans concern for global warming. according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports, 47% of the respondents think that global warming is a very serious matter, and 26% deem it as somewhat serious. 47 % of respondents think global warming is caused mainly by humans, while 34% believe long term planetary trends are the cause. The article states that “The term global warming refers to an increase of the Earth’s average temperature.” and some believe it to be caused by human produced CO2 and other greenhouse gases.
I was surprised to find out that in 2007, the former vice president Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.” I didn’t know that. But it was shocking to me to see that only 47% of people thought that global warming was a serious matter. Out of all the people in the country that is a large amount of people, but not big enough. But it only includes the adults in this poll. Have you seen all the commercials about global warming on Nickelodeon? I learned that if you keep your car running for more than 20 seconds you would save more gas if you just turned your car off and it would cause less pollution obviously. I would like to see a poll for the kids to take, to see if they think that global warming is serious or not. We are going to be the ones facing the more serious consciences to come.

Great idea to poll students–do you think you could design one and distribute it during lab or lunch? Let me see what you come up with before you give it out, but start working on it–that will be a great addition to our documentary.
